Pencils Down, Pests Drawn: Inside the Proforce Bug Drawing Contest

Framed children’s bug drawings displayed on a wall with colorful letters spelling “BUG GALLERY” in the center.

How a company-wide bug drawing contest became one of our favorite Proforce culture moments yet:

Ordinarily, a pest control company might be removing pests from the wall, but this time we decided to do something a little different… At our corporate location we now have a framed collection of hand-drawn bugs by our employees and their families. We call it the Bug Gallery, and it is the payoff from a company-wide bug drawing contest that turned into one of the most fun culture moments we have had all year.

The idea was simple. Pest control is what the Proforce team does every day, so we flipped it around and asked everyone to draw the bugs instead of treating them. No rules, no skill requirement, just pens, markers, and imagination. Entries poured in, everything from careful, realistic spiders to creatures that look like they crawled straight out of a sci-fi movie (and we certainly hope they don’t come to life or we may have to come up with new treatment protocols).

From Field to Frame

Every submission was printed, framed, and hung on the wall at our Boca Raton headquarters. The result is the Bug Gallery, a permanent fixture that captures something we care about here: a team that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously.

Culture in the Small Things

Contests like this are a big part of how Proforce builds culture. Strong culture is not built in a single meeting or a poster in the break room. It shows up in the small things, like a hallway full of homemade bug art that makes people smile on the way to their next call. The Bug Gallery is a daily reminder that the people behind Proforce are creative, a little competitive, and genuinely good to work alongside.
