Do You Have A RODENT Problem?

Rodents, primarily rats and mice, are among the most common and persistent pests that homeowners deal with, and they are well adapted to living alongside people. Mice can squeeze through openings as small as a dime, while rats need only a quarter sized gap to enter your home. Once inside, they nest in walls, attics, crawl spaces, and storage areas, reproducing quickly and causing damage by gnawing on wires, insulation, wood, and stored belongings.

Rodent droppings and urine can also contaminate surfaces and food. Across the Southeast and Mid Atlantic, roof rats are a particular concern. They are agile climbers that access homes through rooflines, overhanging branches, and even power lines. Signs of rodent activity include droppings, gnaw marks, scratching sounds in walls or ceilings, and greasy rub marks along baseboards.

Proforce Pest Control combines baiting, trapping, and exclusion to address both the rodents inside your home and the entry points that let them in.

RODENT Control FAQs

Pest problems come with a lot of questions. Here's what you need to know to identify, prevent, and get rid of them.
How do I know if I have rodents?

Common signs include small dark droppings, rice shaped for mice and larger capsule shaped for rats, gnaw marks on food packaging or structural materials, scratching or scurrying sounds in walls or ceilings, especially at night, and greasy rub marks along baseboards where rodents travel. In attics, look for disturbed insulation, droppings, and chewed wiring. Your Proforce service professional will conduct a thorough inspection, including the attic, to assess the situation.

Trapping removes rodents that are already inside, but it does not stop new ones from entering. Rodents can also become trap shy over time, avoiding traps they have encountered before. That is why our approach includes both removal and exclusion, sealing the gaps, cracks, and openings rodents use to access your home. Addressing the entry points turns a temporary fix into a lasting one.

Our service includes strategic placement of bait stations, attic inspection and treatment, interior trapping, and identification of entry points. For homes on our comprehensive plan, exterior bait stations are included along with attic dust application and baited traps. For more complex situations, a state certified inspector will evaluate the property and recommend exclusion work based on what they find, including sealing gaps around AC lines, roof ridges, fascia, and crawl space access points.

We can inspect your attic, under the home, and the roof to locate the source. If the animal cannot be reached, we apply a biological neutralizing agent that breaks down the odor and controls any secondary fly activity. Your service professional will explain the process and pricing upfront so there are no surprises.

Yes. Rodent control is most effective as an ongoing service because new rodents in the area will continue to test your home’s defenses. Our plans include regular monitoring of bait stations and re inspection of sealed entry points. If you notice any new activity between visits, the Proforce Guarantee covers a callback at no additional charge.
